Lawrence brings a passion and excitement for theatre to his work and thus stimulates his actors/students to find their own artistic passion within themselves. His thirst for knowledge and intellectual expansion is one of his greatest assets. Lawrence is very dedicated to the directing projects he takes on and brings to them a keen insight and vision laced with creativity, professionalism, and just plain smarts. Actors of all levels love working with him because he not only inspires them to stretch and is very supportive, but also is extremely encouraging in their growth as performers and individuals. Lawrence is always right there with his actors/students in every step of the process and journey in the development of their characters.

I have had the great pleasure of working with Lawrence many times over the years as both an actor and a director. He is absolutely the most dynamic director at physical blocking. He’ll tell you it’s because he gets bored easily- but it’s always to a brilliant result! As an actor, he is inventive and enthusiastic and tireless in his pursuit for comedy and heart. On either side of the table, people, myself included, count themselves lucky to be working with a talent of such caliber.

As an actor and as a director, Lawrence Lesher is like Lawrence Lesher the man. He is honest. He is giving. He is quick on his feet. He is challenging. To me, Larry redefines the definition of dedication, professionalism and friendship on a daily basis. I’ve had the honor and pleasure of working with Larry as an actor and as a director on numerous projects over the years and hope to continue that streak in the years to come.

I have had the great pleasure to work with Lawrence Lesher as both an actor and director. As an actor, Lawrence is a director's dream. He brings a lively interpretation from day one yet is open to direction and collaboration. His timing and impulses are exceptional and his acting is, above all, honest.
As a director, Lawrence is an actor (and a producer's) dream. He is a master of farce and comedy. His easy demeanor lets actors work in a comfortable environment where the ideas flow freely. He is a true collaborator, willing to try any idea in the journey toward a great show. I should also note, that in most of my work with Lawrence, our rehearsal time has been about 10 days. In such a brief period, most directors go into panic mode, but not Lawrence. Lawrence (and his casts) get more out of 10 days of rehearsal than most directors I've worked with can get out of 3 weeks.
Much like his acting, the shows Lawrence stages are honest. A producer could not find a better director than Lawrence Lesher. He has a great knack for casting; his rehearsals are fast paced and productive; and his shows are crowd-pleasers and often sell-out. If you are looking for a director to deliver a best-selling, crowd-pleasing, artful, on budget production, then Lawrence Lesher is your man.

Lawrence Lesher, has been a gift to my life! I present monthly shows in my Black Box Studio Theatre through my production company, Elizabeth Hodes Vocal Theatre. Lawrence has directed monologues and excerpts from plays (Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, etc.) with about 25 different actors for the past year.
He works with positive passion and professional expertise. I would be happy to recommend him further.

It's always fun to be able to use the phrase "Well, my New York director said..." When it's someone as talented as Lawrence, who will sit down, have a drink, swap theatre gossip, and dissect plays with you, it doesn't get any better. He has an eye as sharp as his wit and a truly congenial nature. He directed one of my dramas in a 300-seat outdoor theatre and pulled it off superbly--all in 12 days. I hope he will direct more of my plays in the future. I need to give him a comedy now.
P.S. He can also act and he doesn't seem to mind taking his clothes off on stage.

Lawrence Lesher is one of the finest directors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He is professional; consistently directing projects that open on time, under budget, and with a
finished product that exceeds my wildest expectations. He is an absolute joy to work with, bringing humor and levity to the often stressful process of putting a show together. He has a gifted
eye for building dramatic moments, and he has the kind of comedic sense that leaves audiences in stitches. He is simultaneously a producer's dream and an actor's best friend. There is no director I would rather work with than him.
